Log - And things always change. (Open)
Characters: Bay, The old Man in the greeting room.
Open? Yes, sure, absolutely!
Where: The arrival room.
When: Morning.
Warnings: Bay swears a little.
One last ride. That's what Emmett and Bay got with Emmett's beloved bike. It was sad but, she was glad to share that with him, as well as talk. Stupid grounding keeping them apart, even if she was involved with the cause. Emmett wanted her to stop regretting it but, and when he smiled it was easier, but when they were apart... Of course Daphne wasn't helping with this, was this what having a sister was like?
Bay said goodnight to Emmett, with her hands and her lips. If Melody was around she didn't interrupt them, having Emmett's mom against you was a sore place to be. Bay climbed in her car, a strange blue contraption out of its element and out of its decade. Seatbelt, mirrors, key in ignitio- is that book Daphne's? Bay stopped getting ready to drive off, to pick up the old leatherbound tome and investigate it.
The page she opened to centered on a girl, beautiful and dark. A lovely illustration in a stile of an art style long ago. Bay couldn't recognize it by century but it was the sort of thing you'd find in a medieval manuscript. The young artist was captured, investigating the details o the illustration. The girl's hand was on the hilt of a blade hidden in the cloak and garb that could be from any fantasy setting, standing against a wall of thorns, their darkness was foreboding where the girl's was alluring. All sorts of questions filled her mind over the book, the girl, what it was about.
Questions lost as she blacked out... drawn into the mystery surrounding the old leather tome sitting in her car. A mystery nobody else can solve as the book vanishes shortly after, leaving the baby blue former military vehicle in front of a house without answers for anyone to find...

"Ah, you're awake Lady Kennish. Or is it Ms. Vasquez?" Bay's eyes locked onto the source of the voice in a heartbeat. Trying to work out how she got here, who they were, and what sort of sick joke was that. She didn't answer him at first, eyeing the old man warily as she gathered her wits to her.
She was in a bed, a nice comfortable bed, just shy of the comfort her bed at home gave. The room was beautiful but... lacking. Fitting more in a fairy tale than anything else, it lacked the distractions you would see in most 'beautiful' rooms she's been to. She was wearing a modest white nightgown, it felt wonderful but altogether wrong. As it, like the room, looked to be of a time far forgotten in the information age at home.
"I- how- What the hell am I doing here?" Bay finally managed, her confusion quickly shifting to anger as she wanted to know where she was, and how she ended up in this outfit because she did not get dressed like this herself.

"You should join us! A nice cup of tea may help calm your nerves."

"Might be a good idea," Bay had this sinking feeling a lot of what she would want to ask for were out of the question given outside looked like a Renaissance Faire. Kinda shot most of her silver linings out of the air. "Maybe an explanation on what the hell is going on?"
Bay was somewhat regretting her reaction to the man who arrived when she woke up, he probably was trying to explain things but she was too angry at it all to listen.

"As much as I can explain! A cup of tea will do you a world of good, my dear."
She smiled every so sweetly at the girl to whom she just then realized she hadn't yet introduced herself properly.
"I am Tatra. What's your name?"

"I've never met any actual royalty. Just players on the Royals," Bay had the sinking idea after she said it that the joke would fall on confused and unknowing ears. But who can tell, maybe she was a Princess that watched pro Baseball.

"What is the Royals?" she asked, allowing Tara to lead the way once again.

"I'm going to just, guess, here. That this is one of those 'save the kingdom before I go home' stories, with some sorta looming darkness or evil king to defeat. Until that happens I have to make due here and be the hero and learn some big fancy lesson," Bay had done her fair share of reading fantasy books to escape her life, using that to fuel her art. So if she accepted she wasn't crazy (which in the back of her mind was still on the table) she had to accept something really unlikely was going on.
And if it was any fantasy story the rules would probably be pretty accurate to what she described as a worst case scenario, "Am I close?"

"Although I'm not sure we're meant to learn anything."

"When I get home I'm switching to ebooks, this sort of thing never happens with a Nook or a Kindle," Bay muttered, hoping her muttering would keep from asking what either of those was. It was still her plan for when she gets out of this.

Luckily for the conversation, they had finally reached the kitchen and Tara was showed the princess the various herbs and spices available for her tea-making needs.
"Is there anything in particular you'd like in your tea?"
I... can never write a short post, sorry.
"Some sugar?" It was a meek little question, life had been so hectic having someone other than Emmett ask what she wanted was just... strange. She dragged one hand over the other, palm up with the other making a knife hand motion. Then, used a hand to rub at her chin in a very deliberate manner.
It took Bay a moment to realize she had also signed the question as she said it, something she was doing often but never without purpose. She must be out of sorts to just drift into sign language. Even if she's been practicing a lot lately, she just stared at her hands a moment. A realization setting in as she stared at her hands.
She was alone, that this wasn't some game. Guess it took her calming down to really see the big picture. She sighed and moved her hands again, without words. Pushing her index finger into her opposite thumb, and down to meet her other index. Then making a cross across her left armpit. A gesture that the servant did understand, even if Bay was hoping the second option for her tea would go unnoticed. The serving girl let out a small gasp. Or Scotch.
(OOC: Some. Sugar. Or. Scotch.
it's beautiful <3
Mint for clarity, cinnamon to warm the body, a pinch of this and that for flavor... and of course, plenty of sugar. Not enough to make it syrupy, but plenty for a sweet tooth. She barely noticed that a bottle of scotch had found its way at some point onto her tray.
Before long a kettle of tea was brewing at the precise temperature as selected by Tatra. If the serving people were impressed by the princess' fervor, they didn't show it; they simply stayed out of the way.
When the tea was ready Tatra lifted the tray and prepared to take it across the castle to the tea room. That was when Tara intervened and respectfully took the tray from her, ever so politely leading the way to the northern wing.
