consultmybooks: (Eye Contact is Suddenly Problematic)

Oh, but Giles did know about Apep. He was unlikely ever to forget those hideous black eyes, seen and reflected a thousand times in the broken fragments of a funhouse mirror. He didn't know the name, he didn't know the circumstances, he just knew that, at some point, something had been a blot on Helios' soul where it shouldn't.

And he wrote off the dizzy, disorientated, nauseous feeling that he always felt upon leaving Helios' body to the natural oddness that was being a ghost. Perhaps if Giles admitted what he was feeling, or Helios...they might have been able to sort out what was happening.

"And easier to, um, t-to escape, should it come to it, without leaving one another behind."

The old adage about outrunning a bear has never really applied to Giles and Helios, has it? Even so, he can't help but ask, just as awkwardly: "Are you certain?"
